For the first time ever, I completed a whole Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle without any help. No looking things up, no checking the dictionary, no Googling the hard ones.
Which means it was probably the easiest Sunday Times crossword in the history of mankind.

Congrats. I'm happy when I can do half of one.
One other thing: Pencil or pen?
Pencil. No way could I do a Sunday puzzle in ink. (Monday, yes; Tuesday maybe but probably not.) There are too many times I have to pencil in an answer to see if it works.
Crosswords get easier the more you do them, even the Sunday Times, which are about "Thursday" level in difficulty. Many answers are used over and over. Els (golfer Ernie), oast (hops kiln), and olla (earthen pot) will live forever as the answers to puzzle clues.
The Friday and Saturday Times crosswords are the bitch mothers. I've never been able to get a toehold in either.
