Wacky Night

in | | Comments (3)
Last night I had one of those nights where my dream sequences ran rampant. Everyone has nights like those... where your dreams seem especially colorful, lengthy, and fantastic. They say dreams have meaning. I wish I knew what these meant.

The first dream was with my kids and me. I can't recall all the details but it took place in some sort of mansion on top of a hill. The mansion was big and dark, as if we were in an Edward Gorey drawing. A thunderstorm was taking place outside. I remember the lightning flashing through the windows. Evil things - zombies or CHUDs or something - were trying to get in. We met a violent end next to a staircase. I had to wake myself up from this dream.

The second dream was more friendly and colorful. I found myself on Coney Island or some place like it. I was walking along the midway and there were all these places to play cards. There were dozens of places to play any card game you wanted. I wandered into one place that specialized in Crazy Eights. I sat down and started playing Crazy Eights only it wasn't Crazy Eights we were playing. The players were simply laying their cards out in rows. And there sitting next to me was Lucille Ball. Not the young I Love Lucy Lucille Ball but the old Dean Martin Roast Lucille Ball. She kept bellowing out that annoying, hoarse, really loud, I've-smoked-for-100-years laugh of hers right next to me. "Hah! Hah! Hah!" I finally threw down my cards in exasperation and said "I'm going to go play Euchre!"

Then I woke up and it was time for work.

That first dream was some bad dream. Did you have garlic for dinner?

Two hot dogs and a tomato. Though the hot dogs had considerable jalapeños on them.
