I've really enjoyed Cooper and Strathairn since John Sayles's "Matewan"; Cooper plays a union guy who's a little too good to be true, but Strathairn has one of the most memorable parts I remember: a mining-town constable who's no friend of striking miners but won't be bought off or intimidated by the mine owners, either.
