Procrastinator
I know, I know... I promised pictures and stories from Jamaica. But, unfortunately, I've had a number of other things - all mundane - to occupy my time this week. Travel on Wednesday, painting the hallway yesterday, evening meetings, you name it. But I will blog about my exploits even if it's well after the fact and even if it's just to save my own recollections.
For now, it's snowing at Beckett Haus. Here's the view of the neighborhood soon after I awoke. (Requiring 2 full stops of exposure compensation!) And with the 16 inches of snow comes empty-nest syndrome to bite me on the ass. A- is away at school and D- is on a ski trip with friends so I'm left all by myself to shovel my 60-foot driveway.
And, no D- for whenever you read this, I am not getting a snow thrower.
I'll keep you posted.

Those are your choices? Blogging or shoveling your driveway on a Sunday. Blogging would win here in a landslide. I guess I should say avalanche. It is more appropriate. I'm so thankful I have never had to shovel my driveway. No activity shows me how out of shape I am quite as well as shoveling does and my driveway is longer than yours.
Big snow, the kind I'm kind of sorry to miss (as long as I'm guaranteed safe passage back to the snow-free Bay Area).
Don't worry about not getting to write up the Jamaica trip yet; it's funny that there's an unspoken deadline pressure to write about stuff. Partly that's constructive -- it's good to write while impressions are fresh. Partly it's not: Sometimes the impressions come out better with a little gestation.
