Conversation between D- and I today before heading off to Sunday services:

D-: Do I have to go? Can't I stay home and do my homework so I won't have to do it tomorrow?
Me: No. You'll have plenty of time this afternoon to do your homework.

Conversation between D- and I later in the afternoon:

Me: I thought you your were going to do your homework so you wouldn't have to do it tomorrow?
D-: Yeah. Well, that passed.
