*Yawn*
Some guy from Spain beat some guy from Argentina in the French Open tennis tournament. Who in America could possibly care? You? No? How about you? Not you either? Then you. Do you care? No?
Professional tennis and professional skiing are two sports that are simply not worth paying attention to. They're just not important.

... unlike professional badminton. Which reminds me, we haven't seen you at the badminton club lately. Do tell, you haven't given up the shuttlecock for other pleasures?

P.S. Not that you're not entitled, but there's been an air of gloominess about you in some of your recent posts. Obviously, I thought I could shake you from it by the mention of shuttlecock. It usually works for me.
I'm sorry, Marie, but my racket's out for restringing. I'll only play with catgut, of course, and the cats just aren't cooperating.
And I'll have you know that I was a badminton phenom as a boy, thank you very much. I won the Worcester Academy Sports Camp badminton tournament 4 summers in a row. It was there that I learned to truly love the shuttlecock. Doubles or singles... it didn't matter. My passion for the shuttlecock stays with me to this very day.
(And you're right, I have been gloomy. Thank you for calling me on it. But nearly all of my executorial duties are complete, there's a light in my eye, and a song in my heart. Count on funnier, more upbeat posts.) Your talk of shuttlecocks cheered me right up.
Cheers,
