Vacation Spot

I admit it. I'm a weather groupie. I love to read about weather, hear about weather, and most especially, experience weather. I could never live in a place like Tucson or LA. They have climate; they don't have weather.

During the winter I like to follow the weather in Fairbanks, Alaska. Here are current conditions in Fairbanks:

11:55 Local Time: Temp is -42 degF. Areas of dense ice fog persisting into the afternoon.

How cool is that! Check it out at the Weather Underground.

Perverse as it sounds, I would love to experience -42 degF with dense ice fog (once).

There are several weather plugins for MT you ought to check out.

Ummm... I'll take your word for it. Sounds a little too cold for me! I don't mind snow -- to visit. *grin*

I'm trying to talk hubby into considering Bellingham, Washington as a possible place to relocate to whenever we are ready to relocate (not anytime soon). I can be near the ocean and the snow does make it into town on occasion (he would like to live in snow country). It's the only place I currently know that would give us the best of both worlds... unless someone can suggest a better place.

Actually, it's too cold for me, too. But I would like to see what it's like. Imagine... 4 hours of daylight, ice fog, -42F what would it be like to live there?

I think I'm the only person in Maryland who likes winter. Today when I went out running it was 21F. They're calling for some form of frozen precip on Saturday.

I've got a cousin who lives in Seattle. She really likes it.

TW, I've looked a plug-ins a couple of times and haven't found the energy to install one. For me it's my couch and the Weather Channel.
